Pumpkin Picking on Long Island

Autumn is the season after summer, when leaves fall from trees. It's also the season when the days get shorter and colder, and everything turns brown and drab, but people like it anyway, probably for the pumpkins!


Atlantic Nursery & Garden Shop

Info: Located near the Nautical Mile, Atlantic Nursery & Garden Shop has been family owned and operated since 1929 and boasts and a wide selection of pumpkins to pick.


Other Activities: Farm animals and petting zoo, hay and mini corn maze, tire crawl, haunted hide-away, build your own scarecrow, fall harvest and decorative market, festive cutout scene, children scavenger hunt, pumpkin painting and face painting.

Info: The 1-acre pumpkin pitch is packed with pumpkins from the farm’s patches in the back.

Other Activities: Hayrides, animal train ride, pumpkin bouncy house, firetruck slide, haunted maze, duck races, trikes and games play area. There is a marketplace and concessions offering cornstalks, roasted corn, fresh baked pies, apple cider, candy apples and mums.


Andrew Family Farm and Greenhouse

Info: There are a variety of pumpkins at the 3-acres patch, which features pumpkins cut off the vine and trucked in from their other locations.

Other Activities: Farm stand offering baked goods, straw bales, corn stalks, vegetable and fall flowers.


The BBGG Farm & Nursery

Info: There is 5-acres pumpkin patch full of pumpkins grown at the farm and nearby farms.

Benner’s Farm

Info: One of Suffolk County’s western most farms, Elwood Pumpkin Farm boasts 11-acres of white pumpkins, speckled swan gourds.

Info: Lewin Farms is currently in its fourth generation of providing Long Islanders acres of fresh produces, pumpkins and gourds. People can look for pumpkins in their 60-acre field.

Gabrielsen’s Country Plant Farm

Info: The Jamesport farm’s new Herricks Lane location boasts a 1 ½ acre pumpkin field, which features traditional and specialty pumpkins and gourds.

Greenland Family Farms

Info: People can search for pumpkins in Greenland Family Farms fields and the farm special pricing for all one person can carry.

Info: The South Fork farm offers a variety of fruits and vegetables, but Long Islanders can browse the farm’s pumpkin patch for the perfect pumpkin.

Hank’s Pumpkintown

Info: Hank’s Pumpkin has over 420 acres of crops spread throughout its South Fork location and 48 of those acres are dedicated to pumpkins. From small to extra-large pumpkins on the vine, this farm will be the place to find the perfect pumpkin.
